Keep Austin Weird Festival

Today was the Keep Austin Weird Festival. It was a 5K run with a bunch of bands playing. One band that caught my attention was Army of Freshman. They put on a really good show and a couple songs caught my attention, but I'm not sure which one it was. Basically it was like Halloween in June. People were dressed in all different costumes. Here were some of the more interesting costumes that caught my attention.

Remember when gas prices were still cheap...

Remember when gas prices were still under $2 per gallon. I was going through some old pictures and I came across this slide. I don't know when it was taken, but it must have been in the early 2000's when I was living in Randolph, NJ.

Shot From The 360...

Here is a beautiful shot of downtown Austin from the top of the 360 condominium tower. This is currently the tallest building in Austin. The view is spectacular here! You can see all of downtown Austin in a 360 degree field of view. I just love the feeling of being high up in a skyscraper. It's a feels peaceful and exhilarating observing everything that is happening in the city from that vantage point.

Meeting Someone From 21 years ago...

The strangest thing happened to me last night. I was at Stubb's BBQ with my friend Jason. We were watching Ladytron. I've never really heard of them, but Jason is a big fan and was adamant about going to this show. So what the heck, I decided to go check them out.

I spot this blonde with a large, interesting tattoo on her back. For some reason I was drawn to her, so I approached her and started talking to her. We chatted for a bit and I found out she is the cousin of the girl I use to sit next to in 4th grade! Wow! What a small world this is!
