Music: OneRepublic Apologize
I've been listening to this song over and over again. It took me a while to realize that he's singing about the pain and sadness someone goes through after trying to hang himself. It's beautifully written and a top 20 hit. Who would have ever known this song was about a suicide attempt? It sounds like a break up song and perhaps you could interpret it as a suicide attempt after a breakup. But what I don't get about the video is why are they showing a New Year's Eve party?
I'm holding on your rope,
Got me ten feet off the ground
I'm hearin' what you say but I just can't make a sound.
You tell me that you need me
Then you go and cut me down, but wait
You tell me that you're sorry
Didn't think I'd turn around, and say...
That it's too late to 'pologize, it's too late
I said it's too late to 'pologize, it's too late
I'd take another chance, take a fall
Take a shot for you.
I need you like a heart needs a beat
But it's nothin' new (yeeaah)
I loved you with a fire-red
Now it's turning blue, and you say...
"Sorry" like the angel heaven let me think was you
But I'm afraid...
It's too late to 'pologize, it's too late
I said it's too late to 'pologize, it's too late
Whhooooooaaa.....
Bridge (guitar/piano)
It's too late to 'pologize, it's too late
I said it's too late to 'pologize, it's too late
It's too late to 'pologize, yeah
I said it's too late to 'pologize, yeah
I'm holdin on your rope, got me ten feet off the ground
